The LFA President Mustapha Raji has congratulated LPRC Oilers following their 4-2 aggregate win over Asko de Kara in the African Champions League at the weekend.

The Liberian Champions lost 2-1 in Stade de Kegue, Lome on Sunday but rallied behind a 3-0 first leg cushion win to qualify 4-2 on aggregate.

Asko were trying to push the game to extra time after going up 2-0 inside 53minutes, but as the Togolese Champions huffed and puffed they conceded a last gasp goal from Terry Sackor in the 96th minute.

Raji was overjoyed by the result from Lome and extended graceful appreciation to the Chief Patron of Sports, H.E. Dr. George M. Weah for the government’s continuous financial supports to ensure Liberian clubs participate in African competitions.

The LFA President has nonetheless sent words of encouragement to MC Breweries after their 5-0 aggregate defeat to AS Binga of Mali. Raji has fired up the Breweries family to learn from their mistakes and work harder next time.

Following Oilers’ passage to the second round of the CAF Champions League, the Oil Boys have been rewarded with a two-legged tie against Moroccan Champions, Raja Casablanca.

Liberia Champions host their Moroccan counterparts with a place in the group stage of the competition at stake over the weekend of 15-17 October and the return leg in a week’s time
