Suspended Officials

Barely two weeks after the suspension of its Deputy Secretary for Legal and Technical Affairs, Atty Benedict Yarsiah, the The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has suspended three employees for administrative reasons.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page said, the employees suspension came in relations to the 2022 FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup qualifier between Liberia and Guinea in Monrovia on 6 March.

Those suspended are LFA Technical Director Henry Browne, Women’s Football Manager Francis Tamba and the Transfer Matching System (TMS) Manager Sebastian Collins.

According to the LFA, the officials suspension derived from the recommendations of a committee, chaired by Vice President Administration Sekou Konneh, which was set-up during an executive committee meeting on 7 March.

VPA Konneh’s committee established that there were missteps in the planning and engagement of players for the competition.

The length of the suspension are one month for Henry Browne, while Francis Tamba and Collins are suspended for two weeks without pay respectively.
