Samuka Completes Payment of 50% of 573,828.17 In AFL Morale Welfare Account

Lofa County Senator elect Brownie Samukai has completed the payment of his 50 percent of 573,828.17 United States Dollars in the AFL Morale Welfare Account.
The Friends of Samukai on Thursday presented 173,276.05 United States Dollars to the office of the Sherif, Criminal Court “C” Temple of Justice.
According to Team Samukai, the money was collected from citizens of Lofa and Nimba Counties along with Diaspora Liberians.
” Received from Co-Defendant Brownie J. Samukai, Jr. a Manager’s check #00047576, in the Amount of US$173,276.05( One Hundred seventh six Thousand two hundred seventy-six point zero five United States Dollars), as additional payment drawn on United Bank for Africa Liberia (UBA), payable to the order of AFL Morale and Welfare Account, constituting part payment of US$573,828.17, which is 50% of the money judgement of US$1,147,656.35.” Receipt from Criminal Court C stated.
In February of this year, the Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s ruling, sentencing the former Defense Minister, along with two former subordinates to a two-year imprisonment for misuse of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) pension fund, but with a condition that they would be set free if they restitute US$1.3 million over a one-year period.
Senator elect Brownie J Samukai Jr. 50% is equal to US$191,276.05.
His first payment was 18,000 United States Dollars and his second payment was 173,276.05 United States Dollars .
