Rep. Samuel Enders To Launch Adult Literacy School For Academic 2021/2022

Montserrado County District #6 representative Samuel Enders is expected to launch an adult literacy school for academic year 2021/2022 in his district.
The decision comes following the 14 years of civil war in Liberia in which many people became victims of circumstances and lagged the opportunity to acquire primary, secondary and tertiary education.
According to the office of Hon Enders, most of the people have grown into adulthood without having the means and support of acquiring minimum secondary education and therefore are unable to write and read a short, simple statement on their everyday life with understanding.
They went on to say that the fact that Liberia has a postwar literacy rate of 48.3% coupled with economic paralysis, speaks to the fact that more needs to be done in addressing the educational needs of Liberia.
The District #6 lawmaker’s office is quoted as saying”Against this backdrop, Hon. Samuel Enders being a humanitarian and an educationalist has deemed it necessary to launch an “Adult Literacy” program this academic year. The school is commonly referred to in Liberia as “Night School”.
They further mentioned that the launch will be an opportunity for women who are crushing rocks and men ridding motorcycles to get ends meet enrol back in school despite the challenges they are faced with.
Meanwhile,The school is expected to be at two locations within the District;
