Monrovia:The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel F. McGill has told Voice Of America (VOA) that Madam Makanneh Keita, the Head of Presidential Special Projects Coordinator at the Executive Mansion, accused of soliciting kickback in the tone of US$5 million from foreign investors, will be investigated by the Legal Advisor to the President instead of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission or other anti-graph institutions like it has been done to other accused members of the Executive Branch of government.

“Madam Keita works directly for the President and at such the President’s legal Advisor needs to first establish if there are any facts in the allegation of bribery” Minister McGill who seemed to be shielding the lady told VOA Wednesday morning.

However, there are concerns within the public surrounding the US$5 million saga and with the President’s Legal Advisor to investigate Madam Keita leave more questions than answers. Many political pundits believe that for the Head of Presidential Project to request a whooping US$5 million for kickbacks means said order might have come from higher-ups.

During last week, Cable TV broke the news that President Weah suspended Ms. Keita for the alleged solicitation of bribe and asked her to report to the office of the Legal Advisor of the President.

Minister McGill assertion on the international wire” VOA” that Madam Keita was temporarily turned over to the office of the President Legal Adviser for investigation runs contrary to the function and responsibility of the office of the ” Legal adviser” to the President.

The Ministry of Justice and the Liberia Anti- Corruption Commission have the statutory mandate to investigate such case similarly like the recent Executive Mansion Special Projects Coordinator Madame Keita Case.
