LNP, Beaches and Waterway Workers Clashed

Liberia National Police(LNP) Beaches and Waterway Workers Clashed in demand of their six(6) months salary allegedly owed by the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance head by Minister Samuel Tweh .

The group Spokesman Wilson McDoe Said they signed memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with the government to pay their salary in the 30 days of March up to April 16, 2021.

He added that due to the government alleged failure to pay them their salary it got them so angry to staged protest in the of Monrovia on Monday May24, 2021, before Finance Ministry to draw government attention to pay them.

But Wilson said while in the protest exercise the LNP Professsional Standard Unit (PSU) allegedly beat few of their member and arrested them by placing them in jail at the Liberia National Police Headquarters without reason.

He noted that they will not stop the protest until the government can settle them their salary in the tune of over five hundred thousand United States dollars (500, 000) per 70usd for each person monthly.

Therefore the group Spokesman Wilson McDoe called on President George M Weah Intervention to instructed Youths and Sports Minister D. Z. Wilson through Finance Ministry to pay their over due salary in order to avoid violance confusion between the Beach and Waterway Workers.
