The National Executive Committee of the Liberty Party has formally suspended Montserrado County Senator Darius Dillon, Vice Chair for Political and Legislative Affairs, and Daniel Sando, Vice Chair for Press and Public Affairs for six months.
In a statement released Friday, October 1, 2021, the NEC said Senator Dillon and Mr. Sando were suspended for making several unauthorized public utterances, making derogatory statements against the Chairman Musa Bility and Executives of Liberty Party that brought public disrepute to the party; and at the same time their deliberate refusal to cooperate with the party’s internal resolution mechanism, reasons it terms as Administrative.
“The LP condemns the actions of these LP executives in the strongest terms as it has the propensity to cast unnecessary aspersions on the party and will not be tolerated. Both the NEC members have been suspended for a period of six months beginning October 1, 2021 and it ends March 31, 2022,” the release said.
By this action, the Liberty Party warned that it will not tolerate any act which tends to tarnish the reputation of the party or its officials/members; adding any and all actions on the part of Mr. Dillon and Mr. Sando are not actions of the party and should not be considered as such.
Liberty Party however urged all of its NEC members to desist from such actions going forward or face stringent actions by the party.
