Hon Joe Threaten Plenary Action Against Arcelor Metal

Grand Bassa Representative Matthew Joe threatens Plenary action against Arcelor Metal Mining Company for demolishing important structures within the concession area, but the company says the demolition is part of its phase two project.

Representative Joe accused the company of allegedly demolishing buildings that were constructed by the Liberia American Swedish Mining Company (LAMCO) while replacing them with containers as residence for workers.

But, the company in a press statement said the demolition is part of preparation for its phase two expansion project.

The company added that structures being demolished are unsafe for its workers describing them as uninhabitable
