As we promised yesterday, a government delegation headed by Hon. Varney Sirleaf, Minister of Internal Affairs, visited the home of the late Alieu Sheriff an hour ago, the truck driver that was allegedly killed by officers of the Liberian National Police. The intent of the visitation this morning, was to IDENTIFY with the deceased family and to sympathize with them on behalf of the President and government of Liberia.

Minister Sirleaf expressed government’s heartfelt condolences to his family, mainly his window. And informed them that government regrets his untimely death, like any other citizen. He reiterated that an URGENT AUTOPSY has been ordered by the Minister of Justice as part of the investigation. Minister Sirleaf also assured the family that the investigation will be done speedily, and ANYONE culpable, will be sent to court for prosecution.

The family through their lawyer, Cllr. Yaya Kromah responded and said he met with the Justice minister yesterday and demanded an impartial investigation and speedy trial. He averred that Minister Dean assured him of their demand.
