The Liberian government has formally dedicated the Japan Freeway, otherwise known as Somalia Drive.
The four lane freeway was funded by the government and people of the Republic of Japan.
Commuters along the route will no longer sit in long traffic queue as it has been prior to the dedication of the freeway.
The dedication of the freeway comes as an “Independence Gift” for citizens as Liberia commorates 174 years of independence.
It is a major boost for the infrastructural component of the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.
President George Weah cut the ribbon to the road, thus declaring it open for use.
The Liberian Leader has given serious priority to road connectivity since the insertion of his government in 2018.
