GOL Continues Negotiations With China Railway Seventh Group(SL) CO.’ LTD On The Possibility Of PPP

Follow up negotiations continues with China Railway Seventh Group(SL) CO.’ LTD on the possibility of PPP toll roads in Liberia. The NRF team was accompanied by the Liberian Ambassador to Sierra Leone and her senior staffers. Stay tuned

The damage factors on our roads are truck and others heavy duty road users. The cost of maintenance on our road network is huge fuel levy alone cannot maintain our network.

Secondly, the funds is not been use for maintenance only, but new road construction, periodic and routine maintenance including rehabilitation.

Currently, GOL does not have the fiscal space for huge investment in our road infrastructure they doing their best to facilitate investment in the road sector. Toll comes with so many benefits that will provide additional source of revenue for our road network.

Currently, most African countries are using toll as alternative source of financing road and maintenance works. Charges are done base on road user vehicles with the most damage factor on the road ( trucks). Smaller vehicles pay minimum base on the use of the road.

Over 60% of our road network is in very bad condition we will need over 2 billion to improve our road infrastructure.
