GENDER MINISTRY HOLDS STAKEHOLDERS VALIDATION SESSION IN BUCHANAN

Grand Bassa ,The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (Mogcsp), with support from partners, commences a two-day high level stakeholders validation session in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County.

The event is aimed at producing a holistic analysis of gender issues to help improve policies, programs and interventions, gear towards achieving gender equality,identify progress, gaps, challenges and needed intervention.

According to the Acting Gender Minister Hon. Hassan Karneh the two-day stakeholders validation session which begins Thursday, September 2 and is expected to end on Friday, September 3, brings together representatives from line ministries, government officials, national and international organizations, as well as CSOs and county staff amongst others.

Hon. Karneh maintained that the 2-days meeting will also focus on developing a holistic analysis of gender issues that are used to help improve policies, programs and interventions geared towards achieving gender equality, identify progress, gaps, challenges and needed interventions.

The Acting Gender Minister believed that the session will also highlight the different conditions, needs, level of participation in decision making, access and control of resources between women and men, girls and boys.

He at the sametime said, the stakeholder validation meeting will address an overall background and analysis on the current gender equality situation in Liberia to facilitate the development of gender-responsive country strategies, programs and projects, and to contribute to dialogue.

The ongoing stakeholders validation session is supported by the United Nations, European Union, African Development Bank, and the Embassy of Sweden.
