As resident of Chicken Soup Factory protest in demand of LEC, LNP Nabs three, as Kreplah makes swift

Monday-Monrovia, Regular movement of people alone the Japanese freeway on Monday morning were seen disrupted after aggrieve residents of Chicken Soup Factory protest over what they turns as LEC inability to complete the distribution of electricity to the entire community.

Over the time communities in Monrovia and its environ has been protest to send a message to the Liberia Electricity Corporation over the need of electricity supply in their community which something results turned to be positive or negative.

But speaking to this paper on Monday in the chicken soup factory community, the head of the aggrieve residents of Chicken Soup Factory Nathanial Nah Davis said it was the refusers of the authority of Liberia Electricity Corporation to provide current to the entire community was what led to the protest.

According to Nathanial Davis they had serious of meeting with the management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation and was informed that the lack of material was the reason large potion of the community was left out but after being informed by the authority that material came in the country since December but their community has not been electrify fully.

Davis into a frustrating moon informed our Reporter that for a while they have been marginalized and rejected by LEC noted that their protest was not intended to burn tires or do unlawful things but to seed a message to the authority of the Liberia Electricity Corporation.

“For me they gat their own reasons for which they got to handcuffs me, because I think we were peaceful and looking at my arrest is so funny because I don’t think I need to be handcuffs, I think I need to be ask or investigated but only to see me on cuff is so funny” he noted.

He further lamented that the law is working actively and the reason of his arrest will be made Knowledgeable to him when they get at the police deport.

Davis at the same frown over the used of teargas by the Liberia National Police according to him the commander of Zone 4 Depot on the Gardnersville Japanese freeway and he were into negotiation to remove the aggrieve residents from the road when another batch of Police officer arrived and used teargas, “When the commander came talking with me to transfer our protest from the main street to LEC sub station it was the same time the police came and begin to fire teargas” he noted.

Meanwhile, a student of the New Jerusalem AGM high school Lavie Kusha said the usual of teargas was not the best option by the Liberian National Police added that students with short birth will find it difficult to take in oxygen.

Student Kusha however added that it was unfair for police to use teargas at about that time mainly when students and other people were going on their daily basis added that it leads to fear and lost of concentrations. He told this paper.

At the same time, representative hopeful of District number 12 Prince Kreplah made a swift intervention in the situation after three of the protesters got arrested by members of the Liberia National Police.

Prince Kreplah further seek a bill for the release of the protesters head Nathaniel Davis along with the reaming two in response after their release, Prince Kreplah noted that the police should have firstly negotiated with the protesters before taking such actions which he said on that basis he was not happy with the police approach.

Prince Kreplah added that authority of LEC should take full responsibility of the situation added that based on their partial connection of some resident and leaving a large potion unconnected a situation he attributed to the cause of the protest he further explain to our Reporter that he has had meetings with the management of LEC on the same situation but their delay is cause serious problem.

He pointed out that the Liberia Electricity Corporation connection of quarter of the community as something that can give rise to power tife an issues which he said leads to government losing lots of revenue.
