Another Disaster Leaves Several Persons Injured

In Margibi County, another fire disaster leaves several persons injured, as the only government run referral Hospital, CH Rennie at the weekend gutted fire.
The County Health Officer, Dr. Augustine Fannieh, attributed the cause of the fire to electrical fault; adding that no death has been established as all of the patients were transferred to nearby facilities.
Dr. Fannieh named the emergency Response Room, records room, in house patient’s pharmacy, Nurses Director’s Office, county office medical director office, hospital administrator office among others as areas that were destroyed by the fire disaster.
He applauded citizens of the county for their timely intervention in helping to put off the fire and at the same time admonished them to help in protecting materials that were retrieved.
The Hospital was seen ablaze with citizens, family members and bystanders struggling to help patients and their loved ones who were being treated at the hospital being rushed out of the hospital.
Addressing journalists after an emergency meeting with Health Minister, and authorities of the County Health Team, Margibi County Legislative Caucus Co-Chair, Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh said the caucus and the Ministry of Health agreed to have the hospital closed for one week in order to establish the full cost of what was damaged during fire incident. She at the same time added that the Margibi County Legislative Caucus will work with the County Health Team in making sure that the hospital is rebuild.
