“A Better Liberia Is Possible”,A movement to support Cllr. Gongloe Presidential Bid in 2

Liberians home and abroad have launched a movement to support the presidential bid of Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe in the coming 2023 presidential and general elections, with a call on all Liberians to join a team striving for a better country.
The movement under the banner”Team Gongloe” was launched on Friday, July 30,2021 in Paynesville with the slogan”A Better Liberia Is Possible”.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, the National Chairman of Team Gongloe, Cllr. Jimmy Saah Bombo said the movement is a community of Liberians from diverse political, social and Economic orientations who share the belief that “A Better Liberia Is Possible” under the leadership of Cllr. Gongloe.

He said Team Gongloe is a conglomeration of the Movement to Ensure Liberia’s Transformation(MELT), Volunteers for Change(VOICE), Liberians for Integrity(LFI), Information Hub Gongloe(IHG), and among others.
Chairman Bombo also stated that Team Gongloe envisage a Liberia where there is strict and uncompromising adherence to the rule of law, and a Liberia in which the the Judiciary is fully independent and administer Justice without fear or favor.
Cllr. Bombo added that Team Gongloe also envision a Liberia where citizens are equal before the law, and a Liberia in which the Legislature makes laws that benefit the Liberian people.
“A Liberia in which corruption is a capital crime, a Liberia in which public officials are public servants and not rulers of the people.”

Chairman Bombon adds:” A Liberia in which the citizens are prime movers and shakers of the nation’s economy, not bystanders, while others(Foreigners) call the shots”.
Team Gongloe national chairman also added that under the leadership of Cllr. Gongloe, Liberia will go back to the soil to take its previous role in the agriculture industry.
“A Liberia in which the citizens eat what they grow and grow what they eat,” Chairman Bombo said.
Chairman Bombo also said that the struggle for justice, equitable distribution of the country’s wealth, economic emancipation and equal participation of the people in the decision-making and the governance of the Liberian State can only be actualized under the leadership of Cllr. Gongloe.
Bombo also noted that Liberians are dying in abject poverty amidst the enormous resources in the country because their leaders are tricksters and unpatriotic.
“It is against this background that we have formed ourselves into an organization named and styled”Team Gongloe with the aim of persuading Cllr. Gongloe to contest the presidency of the Republic of Liberia in 2023.”
He adds:”Team Gongloe sincerely hopes that the learned counselor will respond positively to the call to serve the people of Liberia.”
Meanwhile, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe is a Liberian, born on August 6,1956. He hails from Glehyee-Zorpea, Yarwin-Mehnsonoh Statutory District, Nimba County. He is a founding member of the Liberia People’s Party(LPP).
Cllr Gongloe is a former student leader, activist, an economist, and a leading human rights lawyer.
Cllr. Gongloe served as Solicitor General of Lineria, and Minister of Labour. He also served in other key positions. Cllr. Gongloe is currently the President of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA).
