4 Nigerian National Convicted of Armed Robbery

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Liberia, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean has declared 4 Nigerian Nationals convicted of Armed Robbery as ” Undesirable Aliens” in keeping with section 7.1 of the Alien and Nationality Law of Liberia. He has therefore instructed the Commissioner General Hon. Robert W. Budy Sr. of the Liberia Immigration Service to have them deported from Liberia.

These Nigerians were arrested in connection to the willful, unlawful, illegal and intentionally armed robbed the Ecobank Branch in Kakata, Margibi County where they took alway valuables and cash in the tune of Two Hundred and Seven Thousand-Seven Hundred Ninety-Nine United States ( $ 207, 799.00) Dollars.

The four Nigerians are : Onuegbu Frank Chidozie, age 40, Francis Ezeji, age 32, Chukwu Ago, age 44 and Kingsly Okoro, age 40. They were charged, tried, and convicted in keeping with section 14.32 and 50.5 of the Penal Law of the Republic of Liberia at the 13th Judicial Circuit Court and sentenced to ten ( 10) years in prison on December 14, 2010.

They have therefore been declared ” Undesirable Aliens” by the Minister of Justice in consistent with section 7.1(m) of the Alien and Nationality Law of Liberia which states ” A violation of the law in some other aspects which by status may subject any alien to deportation”

The Attorney General finds an Alien Undesirable by reason of being convicted of a violation of or conspiracy to violate any of the provisions of the Foreign Relations Law relating to reservations of neutrality toward others nations, thereby necessitating their removal from the Republic of Liberia to Nigeria in accordance with section 7.6 of the Alien and nationality Law of Liberia captioned ” Service of prison Sentence prior to deportation “

Section 7.6 states that ” An Alien sentence to imprisonment shall not be deported until such imprisonment has been terminated by the released of the Alien from confinement. Pursuant to this segment of the law; these four Nigerians have been deported from Liberia on grounds of Undesirability base on their status. Though they have served their jail sentences but yet considered dangerous as their continued stay in Liberia could cause more harm to our business community and citizens..

They departed Liberia via Air Cote D’ivoire at 1500hrs on Monday the 27 of September 2021
